Day in the Life....

Following on Fullerton's lead, here is our version of a day in the life, except it's the last day I had with Lani. I was pretty busy with my cousin was in town for a week, and then I was getting ready for a business trip to Washington DC - so blogging time was limited. So my last chance was this day to record what we did.



Here are the girls jumping on the bed to wake me up! I still had to pack, and get to work to put some stuff together. I wanted to spend time with Lani lu before we both went our separate ways.




So after I kicked everyone off the bed, the girls decided to run around and chew their bonies until breakfast.



It was a nice day so after breakfast the pups where outside sunning themselves. I was trying to air out the dog beds and they found them quite the nice place to lay

Lani - I think she knew something was up, I was packing and she figured I was going. Not sure if she knew she was leaving.

Waffle on the other hand, knew what was up and apparently couldn't wait for the little squirt to clear out.

kind of an abbreviated day in the life, I took off by noon and Lani went off to someone else. Not really an average day, packing and running around, but it was what we had. I like the idea of really thinking what we do with the pups during our day, some days we take a lot of things for granted. We did more stuff, but I forgot to take pictures- again taking things for granted.

So just before Lani left, we fell into this mad fit of taking pictures of the girls together. Lucky for us the evening sun set gives off great light for taking pictures of black labs. This was the best of the lot, the two girls together

To Celebrate ME!

Although Carrie and Mom don't seem to be really happy, kind of sad with lots of hugs and kisses . I had a great time, I've been at home for a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time. I thought my pal forgot about me, Waffle got to go to work and lots and lots of walks. I had to stay home with mom, so it was fun to be out and about. I was the center of attention, everyone wanted to meet me and I was on my bestest behavior.

Here I am sitting really really still for this lady, she is making my picture, so I made sure to sit still and show her my best side. My BFF said it was ok for me to sit on a chair, just this once but don't tell on her.

I Guess I'm at the end of my stay here, and the end of my blogging days. Carrie promises she will keep all my fans up to date about what I am doing and how I progress through college. Thanks to all my blogger friends, I hope to see all of you soon, either at schoo or out in the working world. I'm a little scared and not sure what's next, but like my adventures up to now I know they'll be great so stay tuned.

BDOC (Big Dog On Campus)

My BFF took me to work for the last time, it was some sort of staff day so I got to see most of my friends. As usual I get lots of lovin' from all my friends. You could say I'm the Big Dog on Campus - well I'm the only dog on campus but my friends say I rock their world.

This is the bank lady, my BFF gets the money to buy my toys and kibble from her. When I go to the bank, I bark so they know to get the check ready!

She orders books for the student bookstore, I visit her and she shows me pictures of her pups Roxy and Flo

This is the other book lady, I visit both of them all the time, they are my best friends on campus

Ooooo you're pretty cute for a human too!

***sniff*** I'm going to miss them, but I'm off to dog school soon, hope I find some nice people up there.

I think I hate my students

I'm leaving in two hours to take 10 students for 5 days in Washington DC, which should be fun...BUT Lani is going off on a trip of her own *sigh*

just dropped her off at the dog sitters who will take her to the puppy truck. I know the truck is nice and Denny will take good care of her......

I'm just being whiney - good luck baby!

And the winner is...

This one seems to be the fav, but it really doesn't look like her. She is such a sweet heart and here she looks kind of fierce. I imagine, that she was ready to attack the runway, strutting her stuff on America's next model. Do dogs have dreams of grandeur?

I think this is the one, it shows her dark chocolate eyes and she has a kind look on her face. Her ears are the only hint that there is trouble around the corner, which is just like my sweet pea. So cross your paws for us. Lani's sister Lillybell is in this year's calendar, let's hope modeling runs in her family.

Quite the amazing picture considering how much these two fuss and fight. Waffle was monopolizing the bed (naughty girl) so Lani had to make do. So this was them on a rare morning just before I went into the kitchen get some cereal.

And two seconds later, I looked over my shoulder this is the sight I see. I guess cereal sounds a lot like kibble :o)

Remember this pup?

Well it's been just over a year since she arrived, we'd been dogless for 8 weeks and it looked like Waffle would be making guide dogs a career- so we agreed to bring Lani into our family.

Time rolls on and our time with our pups is short, Lani is on the March recall.

my baby is going off to college. My leader had told me that she was not on the recall list and I should expect her to go in May. Well surprise, surprise she was wrong. The communication between me and my leader is spotty to say the least.

Making things worse, I will be in DC for work and won't be able to take her to the truck. My mom is not sure she can take her alone at night, so someone from the club will be taking her.

Our time with her is short and limited, she went into heat last week. :(

Actually it is a funny story, at our meeting, Scotch a 12yr old retired guide was there. He kept following my girl around and trying to mount her. I'm like 'dude you're a dirty old man - stay away from my girl' we thought it was just a matter of him claiming dominance, well never question the wisdom of the ages, the next day she was in heat.

So on the 19th when she is out of heat, we plan on running her over the D-land to get her silhouette cut, we've done this with all of our dogs, it's a nice memory, that night I catch the red eye to DC and when I get home, Waffle will be an only child once again.

Hey Guys sorry I've been MIA, I was on vacation for a few weeks and getting back in the swing of things doesn't include much time on blogger. I'll post pictures and Lani updates soon.

just a quick note, my bff left town to go someplace cold, she offered to take me but sleeping on a bed of ice just didnt sound like my cup of kibble. Lani is off at the sitters so I get the house all to myself. So I get to sleep in all the beds and mom dosent hae to sneak me carrots. My job is to watch the house, which is not all it is cracked up to be. kind of slow, but oh well someone has to do it.

Toe Warmer


So my peeps have been doing this Dine LA thingy - it's where restaurants all over LA offer 3 course fixed price meals. So being the chow hounds that they are they have been eating at lot of different places. The restaurants in Hollywood have all been snooty and said that I could not come in! Can you believ it! Who wouldn't love to have me in their restaurant, besides as you can see from the pictures I usually get stuffed under the table, where my BFF uses me to keep her toes warm. Although you can see, I'm feeling a bit neglected under the table. Most people never even know I'm there....which my BFF says is the idea. *sigh* don't they know it is all about ME! Anyway the restaurants in Pasadena have been much nicer (Carrie: actually I just got tired of being told no and just walked in with her, almost daring them to turn us away. Much harder to turn her away face to face) and we (actually they) ate at Gus's Barbecue, it was crowded and loud, people were watching somethin on the TV-- a bunch of guys running after a ball, you know when Waffle and I run around tackling each other like that we get corrected.

Over all the peeps were happy with lunch, I wouldn't know they never offered me any. :(
I was a good girl and didn't even eat anything off the floor, and my BFF said she never expected anything different. I curled up in the car to go home and I just heard 'good girl Lani' before I fell asleep.

So the dog beds were outside airing out, but the girls decided to take advantage of a cozy place in the sun. Waffle won't sleep on the same bed as Lani, but if Waffle is on the bed and Lani creeps in she is ok with it. I keep telling Waffle she is the cool kid ont he block, but she just rolls her eyes at the baby.
